VIOLENCE BY TIMBER STRIKERS

Seven volunteer timber employees were severely handled by strikers when returning to their homes last night. The attackers escaped in a car. The employers are offering a reward of £5O for the conviction of any of the offenders. Melbourne, March 6.
Eight strikers in three cars raided the timber mills at Tooronga to-day armed with bricks, pieces of timber, and road metah They broke all the windows in the building, and the accountant, in self-defence, fired four shots from a revolver at the raiders, one of whom was wounded. His comrades assisted him to the motor-car and the party decamped.
