Professor Barton Scammell, president of the Dover Radium Institute, claims that chromium can be used In the treatment of cancer instead of radium. Like radium, it dissolves animal tissue, but attacks the diseased portions first. Professor Scammell claims that a saturated solution of bichromate of potassium injected into cancer substance in doses of seven to fifteen minims has proved successful. Radioactive alkaline potassium forms 70 per cent, of the red corpuscles which in cancerous persons are often 50 per cent, below normal.
