A “Timaru Herald’’ representative was authoritatively informed the other day that the Wheat Pool is functioning very satisfactorily; that the sales are being steadily made by it; that the best possible storage arrangements have been made in all the centres; that applications to join the Pool are being received daily, so that present indications are that well over GO per cent, of the wheat growers will sell through the Pool next, season, and that so much business is being done that tjie staff in Christchurch is at present working till ten anti eleven o’clock everv night. The reporter was further informed that but for the operations of the I’ool the price of wheal to-day would be 3d. per bushel lower than if is. and Unit the indications pointed to (he Pool being a complete success.
