The local side won the toss, and sent the Englishmen to the wickets in tine W England, in the first innings, made 250 (Hobbs 5-1. Ames 94, Tyldesley 33). Jardine and Hendren went cheaply. Lampe took five wickets for 46 runs and Tickner th Southern Districts, in the first inning, have lost three wickets for 01.
