BRITISH GENERAL ELECTION
MASS PRODUCTION ORATORY (Australian Press Association.) London, February 24. Elaborate arrangements are already in hand for the general election, which will be unlike any ever fought before in England. Oratory and propaganda will be mass-produced and mechanised by wireless loudspeakers. Films and talking films will be used in the effort to reach the whole Kingdom. The chief national agent of each party is organising these new aids. Most electors, regardless of habitation, will hear the speeches of Messrs. Baldwin, MacDonald, and Lloyd George hundreds of miles distant from where they are being delivered. The three leaders will be broadcast over the nation, first at the outset and lastly on the eve of the poll. Additionally, wherever a member of Cabinet or a party leader speaks, the speech will be relayed by telephone lines and loudspeakers to a series of other meetings. It is hoped thereby to adress as many as twenty meetings simultaneously. Scores of talking films will be used throughout the Kingdom. The total of electors expected is 28,000,000, compared with 22,000,000 in 1924.
