February 25, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, February 25. ■ A later radio message from the steamer Arafura states that the vessel’s propeller shaft is damaged, but not broken, and the vessel is making one knot. The Peshawur is expected to reach the Arafura at midday. The tug Coringa has left Brisbane, and will take over the Arafura on its arrival. The weather is now moderating. (Rec. February 25, 9 p.m.) Sydney, February 25. A radio message received in Sydney this afternoon states that the Arafura is steaming south with the Peshawur as escort. The latter will leave when the tug Coringa arrives. The Arafura is doing two knots. Early last night, when she solicited help, she was in a south-easterly gale, with a heavy sea.
