SOLDIER PATIENTS

MUCH APPRECIATED OUTING.

Congenial weather conditions attended the fourth picnic outing promoted this year by the Red Cross Society for the exservice patients at the Mental Hospital, Porirua. Arrangements were in charge of Mr. J. Burnett, O-8.E,, and Mr. D. G. Clark, 0.M.G4 while Sister J. J - Lewis, Red Cross nurse, also accompanied the party, Eight cars assembled at the Red Cross headquarters, and on arrival at Porirua picked up forty men, and proceeded to Paekakariki, where the day was spent in swimming, cricket, and other outdoor exercises. In conversation with the Red Cross nurse, a number of the men stated how much these outings were looked forward to and enjoyed when thev came round. The next picnic will be held on Friday March 8, when it is hoped that sufficient ears will be available to take another party of men out.
