LOWER HUTT CLUB. Eight teams were entered in the various grades, including three in the Hutt Valley Boys’ League, states the annual report of the Lpwer Hutt Soccer Club. While all did not achieve the success they would have desired, the season nevertheless was a successful one. An appeal is mad® for coaches to look after the boys. The financial position is satisfactory, a balance in hand of £5B being an increase of £l4 10s. on a year ago. Nearly £7 js owing in members’ subscriptions, and the secretary asks: “Is this fair!’’ It is for the defaulters to answer. The use of thj pavilion at the Hutt Recreation Ground was obtained for training purposes, but members were backward in attending and making full use of the coach’s services. There was a shortage of grounds to contend with. The report continued: “It is with regret that we have to state that the W.F.A. does not seem sufficiently alive to the urgency of the matter.” It is thought that another ground could be obtained with co-operation, for the expense of travelling often makes it. hard to keen B team together. Regret is expressed at the death of Mr. H. Baldwin, a vice-president, and congratulations are extended to A. K. Batcheloj, J. Logie, G. Lowry, and R. Cartnell on gaining representative honours. Thanks are recorded to Lower Hutt Borough Council and the Referees’ Association.
