RACING IN VERY LIGHT BREEZE CLYDE’S GOOD PERFORMANCE Calm weather and blue skies over the week-end lent themselves to yachting, and most of the harbour-going population of Wellington had their craft out. Qu Saturday afternoon the weather was a bit on the light side for racing, a mild southerly just sufficing to send the boats along. In Evans Bay only a couple of outboard-motor races were held, as almost a deal calm prevailed. ROYAL PORT NICHOLSON CLUB Four races were held over the Royal Port Nicholson’s Yacht Club’s courses on Saturday afternoon. Owing to the lack of wind several competitors withdrew during the course of their events. Clyde, the Sanders Cup representative shapeu well off the scratch mark m the 14-footers handicap, putting nearly five minutes between herself and the Wellesley II at the finishing line. Following are the results:— FIRST CLASS. Marangi (ser.), 6hr. 13 mm. 15sec. .. 1 Viola (13min.) 6hr. ISmin. Osec .. - Ailsa (Smin.) and Windward (dSmin.) did not finish. SECOND CLASS. Linnet (12min.) shr. Ifimin. 34sec. 1 Nanette (10mm.). shr. ISmin. 24sec, - and Shamrock, did not finish. IS-FOOT AND UNDER CLASS. Little Haste (ser.). shr 28min. 45sec. 1 Hurrica (9min.), shr. 3Snun. ossec. .. 2 Banshee (9min.) did not finish. JELLICOE CLASS. Clyde (ser.), shr. 12min. 33sec .... 1 Wellesley II (4mm.), ohr. 16min. Wellesley I (2min.j. shr. lOiniii. 42sec. 3 All Black (ser.) finished fourth. Ngaio (4min.) failed to finish.
