THE COOK STRAIT SWIM

MISS COBBLESTONE'S PLANS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, January 26. Miss Lily Coppiestone will travel overland from Ashburton to Picton on Tuesday or Wednesday next, and will await there a favourable opportunity to set out on her swim across Cook Strait. Mr. W. Thoms, of Te Awaiti, of the wellknown whaling family, will accompany Miss Copplestono in a dinghy to be her chief adviser. Miss Coppiestone will probably try out a number of starting points and be guided by Mr. Thoms in her ultimate choice.
