RETURNS FOR NINE MONTHS (Australian Press Association.) London, January 1. The returns of the Exchequer for the first nine months of the current financial year show: “Receipts, £485.623,395; expenditure, £623,402,545 ; deficit, £137,779,150. ' . The revenue for the first nine months decreased £6,990,917 compared with the corresponding period of last year, and the expenditure £19,463,156. It should be noted that the largest portion of the revenue invariably comes in the last quarter of the year.
