TRADE AGREEMENT URGED (Australian Press Association.) ’ London, January 1. The “Daily Chronicle,” apropos of a speech by Stalin to the Soviet executive declaring that in the interests of economic reconstruction the Soviet is willing to give England a trade agreement, says that this is as satisfactory as Germany’s, and urges thfi Government not to let the opportunity slip. The policy of having no diplomatic .relations with Russia must end. Unless Britain and the other Powers secure agreements the Germans will have a monopoly of foreign trade on Russian soil, and we will be powerless to act with Russia except through German agents.”
