REMARKABLE DECLINE Dominion Special Service. Auckland, January 2. A remarkable drop in Auckland s birth rate occurred last year. The total number of births, 3197,, was the lowest for 10 years, and was 283 fewer than in 1927 and 385 fewer jhan.in 1926, the record birth year.
