The recent cyclone is passing away eastwards, but another depression is advancing from the western Tasman Sea. Moderate south-westerly winds, veering temporarily to northerly soon, and freshening south of New Plymouth and Napier. Seas rather rough between East Cape and.Akaroa; elsewhere moderate, but rising south of Cape Egmont. Moderate south-west to west winds, with moderate seas in the north-east Tasman Sea; north-westerly winds freshening and seas becoming rough in the south-east Tasman Sea. Some showers still on the East, Coast of the North Island in western districts and Otago. Elsewhere mainly fair to cloudy at first, but soon becoming more generally unsettled, with scattered rain.
