DANCE ON THE MARAMA.
Seeing the Old Year out on New Year’s Eve on board the Marama provided the opportunit for a merry time for the many passengers on the last, voyage. The ship's company indulged in a dance on the main deck, and those who cared lift for this form of celebration of the occasion, played cards in the music room. Those at the dance included Mrs. J. Ward (Sydney), Miss Millie Doherty (Sydnev)', black lace and georgette; Miss Briggs (Sydney), black marocain; Miss M. Briggs (Sydney), mauve crepe de chine; Mrs. W. H. Douglas (Sydney), mauve taffeta; Mrs. W. Douglas (Sydney), black lace; Miss Gaunt (Melbourne), black frock; Mrs. McKenzie (Masterton), black lace and red flowers: Mrs. TJ R. Kirkland (Sydney), flame and white mariette; Mrs. p. Gordon (Masterton), green crepe de chine; Miss Madge Conaghan (Brisbane), navy blue georgette; Miss Olive Armstrong, navy blue georgette: Mrs. W. Mossop (Darling Pt., Sydney), pale pink mariette and spang-' led frock; Miss Audrey Mossop (Sydney), pale pink georgette; Mrs. J. D. Cooper (Marrickville. Sydney), mauve georgette, beaded frock; Mrs. Gilbert Burns (Sydney), red velvet; Miss L. Leckie (Sydney), black georgette; Miss M. Cooper (Sydney), pink georgette; Miss G. Hall (Sydney), green georgette; Miss Mildred Allen (Christchurch), gold lace and tissue: Miss F. Waldron Ham, blue figured crepe de chine: Miss E. Scott (Sydney), floral georgette; Miss E. N. Penn (Bur-ton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, Eng.), coloured chenille georgette on black; Miss J. Mackie (Newcastle), black plush velvet; Mrs. M. Irving (Hawke’s Bay), pink georgette; Mrs. Drake Brockman (Hawke’s Bay), black marocain, with . gold ; Miss J. Macmillan (Brisbane).' Mrs. F. Doherty (Sydney), Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Ogden (Melbourne), Mrs. J. P. Ward (Sydney), Miss J. Macmillan (Brisbane), Mr. and Mrs. Cumming (Sydney), and Miss Brierley (Auckland). Mrs. Kirkland sang "Bonny Mary of Argyle,” among other songs; and Miss Brierley, of Auckland, sang “Dear Heart.” * * •
