The “Daily Express” says that Germany’s invitation to play a British too_ball team was declined because insufficient first-class players were available. The secretary stated that the 1' oreign Office urged that only first-class players be dispatched to the Continent, because it regards it as essential that British prowess be well maintained. D‘V.Y Express” editorially described this astounding attempt to regulate soccer on the 1914-18 basis as the silliest thing imaginable.
