Remora, Habashon, and Violian made the running. Greenline remained in front to win by a short head, with a neck between second and third. Time, Imin. 12sec. PACE WELTER HANDICAP. Seven furlongs. Bollinger, 9.13 J Lady Clara, 8.5 - Hustler. 8.7 ° Eleven started. The New Zealander Boston was sixth. Time, Imin. 29isec. DENMAN HANDICAP. Five furlongs Jov Bird (N.Z.), 7.7 J Deadlight. 8.3 2 Ulen joy, 7.13 3 Thirteen started. Won b.v head, a neck separating second and third. Time, Imin. 4*sec. Jov Bird’s victory came like a bolt from the blue; it was so unexpected. x
