CAMPERS’ TRYING TIME

CONDITIONS ON THE EAST COAST By Telegraph.—Press Association. Tauranga, December 28. The almost continuous rain since the morning of Boxing Day ceased early this morning, and there is now bright sunshine with humid conditions. The rainfall for the past forty-eight hours is 4.48 inches. Both the Walhi and Te Puke roads are in a bad state, but with one day’s flue weather will be in fair order. Four slips are reported on the Kaimai road, which is blocked, and will take some time to clear. The many campers here for the holidays hail a trying experience. Arrangements were made to accommodate them in the various buildings, and some availed themselves of the opportunity, but the majority elected to remain under canvas. A full day’s regatta has been arranged for New Year’s Day in place of Thursd. ■ last, when most of the evenrs were postponed.
