At the Magistrate’s Court to-day, George William Oliver pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of two postal notes, of a total value of £1 10s., the property of Victor Macnamara.

The police said that accused had been trusted by Macnamara to post in 'Wellington a letter, which had missed the mail here. The accused opened the letter, extracted the two postal notes, and eventually cashed them at the Masonic Hotel, Wellington. Accused was sentenced to six weeks’ imprisonment.
