REPAIRS TO CABLE

FAULT IN TASMAN SEA Dominion Special Service. Auckland, December 28. The Pacific Cable Board’s steamer Iris is to leave Auckland for the Tasman Sea next Thursday to repair a fault in the Eastern' Extension Company’s cable-be-tween Wellington arid Sydney. The fault is situated about 300 miles from Wellington. Before the Iris returns to Auckland it is expected that she will effect repairs to two of the Telegraph Department's six cables which are situated in Cook Strait and connect the two islands.
