Forest and scenic reserves in the North Auckland are gradually being increased in number (states the Auckland “Star”). The latest move of the Government is to declare as a reserve the area, of over 100 acres known ns Kai Iwi Lakes, about 15 miles from Dargaville. and only a short distance from the West Coast. Though the locality is not known to tourists, being off the main West Coast Road, it promises to become a popular picnic resort in the future for people of the Hobson County.
