FREE AMBULANCE SERVICE

CONTRIBUTION FROM SCHOOL

CHILDREN

The following staffs have been added to the list of those who are contributing to the Wellington Free Ambulance through the staffs’ contribution scheme: City Council quarry, Ngahauranga; City Council bitumen plant, Rongotai; Prestons, Ltd. (Abel Smith Street) ; S. Wakera; M. Peters; Eastbourne Borough Council; Gordon and Gotch; Wilson's Woodyards; City Council electric light clerical staff; The Tiffin Cafe: City Council tramway sheds; Empire Cafe;; New Commercial Cafe; Stronghold Co., and Trucks, Ltd.

Contributions have been received from the officers and crews of the following ships: s.s. Komata, £5 10s.; s.s. Arahura, £1 16s. 6d.; and s.s. Gale, £2 .7s. 6d. The secretary, Mr. F. Roffe, has also received £2 Gs. from the scholars of the Johnsnoville School. This amount repre-« sents a pence collection made by the scholars to help the ambulance service carry on its work, and is the first of its kipd to be received. Needless to say, the ambulance board greatly appreciates the continued interest and assistance of the Johnsonville scholars, nnd anticipates that their example will be followed by many of the other schools in Wellington’ and district.
