SHOPPING HOURS
To-day the shops will close at 5.30 p.m., aud to-morrow the usual Saturday half-holiday will be observed. Next week the late night will be New Year’s Eve, Tuesday aud Wednesday will be holidays, and on Thursday and rriday the shops will be open until 5.30 p.m. The Saturday half-holiday will again be observed next week. These hours will be observed by practically all the retailers, with the exception of those such as tobacconists and hairdressers, who have special concessions and requisitions.
