RIFLE-SHOOTING

WELLINGTON SUBURBS CLUB The club fired their third shoot of the third series on Saturday afternoon. The weather was perfect tor shooting, but a heavy mirage baffled many of the marksmen. However, some good cards were returned. The ranges were 300 and 600 yards, both very hard ranges, and Rfimn. S. F. McLean topped the score at both ranges. He has shown consistent shooting under all conditions, he also made 1 the highest gun score for the day (91), which was a good performance under such conditions. DepPres. I-I. It. Hunt also has shown his usual consistent shooting under all conditions. The leaders in the third series are as follow: Dep.-l’res. Hunt, 264; Rfimn. 11. T. King, 264; Dep.-Pres. Bitters, 262; liflmn. >S. F. McLean, 260; Pres. W. Fellingham, 260; Rfimn. A. Stewart, 260 With one shoot to go. this provides a very interesting finish. The president referred to the progress made by the club this season and also conveyed to all members the compliments of the season. The scores were as follow: — 300 600
