WEDDINGS. Brilliant sunshine and beautiful flowers combined to grace the wedding on Saturday last of Olive, eldest daughter of Mr. and Airs. Jones, of Hawker Street, Wellington, and John Cuthbert, second sou of Air. and Alts. E. F. Amoore. of Khandallah. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. R. S. Watson at the Khandallah Presbyterian Church, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The bride was attended by her sisters, Misses Gwen and Winnie Jones, and the bridegroom by Air. W. Potter, as best man. and Mr. G. W. Amoore as groomsman. The bride was in a dress of white georgette with pale pink trimmings, and veil, wreath and shower bouquet to match. The bridesmaids wore mauve and apricot georgette, with crinoline hats to match, and the flower girl was in pale blue crepe de chine. The reception, attended by about 100 guests, was held at the residence of Air. G. E. Baker, Torwood Road. The happy couple left later for Taranaki for the honeymoon. • » • A wedding of interest to a large number of people was solemnised tit “Glentui,” Whangara, the homestead of the bride’s brother. Air. A. G. Brosnahan, on Wednesday last. The contracting parties were Helen Elizabeth, elder daughter of Air. and Airs. Thos. Brosnahan, of Pouawa, and James Henry, second son of Air. and Airs. J. S. Allan, of Gisborne. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of hand-njade Flemish lace, with flared skirt hanging gracefully in uneven folds, while a trail of chiffon roses fell from one shoulder. Over all was worn an embroidered veil of tulle. A sheaf of Christmas lilies completed the ensemble. The bridesptaids, Alisses Alolly and Kathleen Brosnahan and Aliss Alarge Allan, were all frocked alike in shell pink georgette, made with tight bodices, with silver lace yokes, the skirts composed of row upon row of small frills. They wore silk tulle veils, and carried dainty bouquets of pink and mauve sweet peas. The bridegroom vvas supported by bis brother, Air. A. Allan, as best man, and by Alessrs. R. Allan and B. Brosnahan as groomsmen. After the ceremony the guests retired to a large marquee erected on the lawn. A dainty wedding breakfast was partaken of, and the usual toasts were honoured. The bride’s mother was attired in an ensemble frock of navy blue, relieved with touches of gold, and carried a bouquet of gold roses and asparagus fern. Airs. J. S. Allan, mother of the bridegroom, was in a frock of black maroeain. Airs. A. G. Brosnahan was gowned in a Nile green lace and georgette frock, with bat to tone. The bride and bridegroom left later In the afternoon for the south, where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride travelled in a beige frock and fox fur, and hat and shoes to tone.

Trinity Alethodist Church, Wanganui, was the scene of a wedding on Wednesday afternoon, when Alurlel.Ethel, third daughter of Air. and Airs. A. A. Willis, Wanganui, was married to Hector Wilfred Baillie, second son of Air. and Airs. J. F. Baillie, of Eketahuna. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a frock of ivory crepe muriel, with silver lace, and the orthodox veil of orange blossom, and carried a sheaf of Aladonna lilies. The maid of honour, Aliss Bertha Willis, sister of the bride, and the bridesmaid, Aliss Helen Drayton, wore flaired frocks of delphinium blue and apricot crepe de chine respectively, and carried bouquets of Iceland poppies to tone with their frocks. Air. F. Baillie (brother of the bridegroom) and Air. A. Carman acted as best man and groomsman respectively, and the Rev. F. H. Spenser, of Otaki, was the ofiiciating clergyman. After the wedding, a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, where Airs. Willis received her guests wearing navy and fawn figured georgette, with navy hat, and carrying a bouquet of crimson carnations and fern. Airs. Baillie, mother of the bridegroom, wore bladk crepe de chine with black hat, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations and fern. Miss Baillie (Wellington), aunt of the bridegroom, wore navy georgette with hat to tone. Air. and Airs. Baillie left for the South by car, the latter travelling in a frock of scarlet and white crepe de chine with hat aid coat to tone.

The Rev. J. Paterson, M.A. was the officiating clergyman on Tuesday afternoon, for the wedding of Marjorie, second daughter of Major and Mrs. G. J. Mac Naught, Wanganui, and Charles SymOii, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Symon, of Oamaru. at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Wanganui, which was handsomely decorated with Christmas lilies. Miss R. Tnrvey was at the organ. The bride, who entered with her father, wore a frock of white georgette and silver lace, with an embroidered veil, and coronet of orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of Christmas lilies.

Her , sister, Miss Flora MacNaught, maid of honour, and the bridesmaid, Miss Edyth Mac Naught, wore palest pink georgette and silver lace, with crinoline hats to tone, and touches of deep blue. They carried bouquets of sweet peas in pastel shades. Two small flower girls, Rae MacNaught (niece of the bride), and Florence Cocks, wore little frilled frocks of palest pink crOpe.de chine, and carried gold baskets with deep blue ribbons, filled with pink sweet pOaS. Mr. H. Gilberd and Mr. E. Symon (brother of the bridegroom) acted as best man and groomsman respectively. After the ceremony, a reception was held at the bride’s home, where Mrs. Mac Naught received her guests wearing black marocain, with Oriental trimmings, and a black hat. GOOSEBERRY WINE. To each pound of firm green gooseberries allow one quart of water, sugar. Bruise the fruit, add it to the water, and stand for four days, stirring occasionally. Strain, and to each gallon of liquid add 31b. of loaf sugar or crystals. Stir, and when the sugar is dissolved put the wine into the cask. Leave undisturbed for six months.
