FIRE DAMAGE

OUTBREAK IN COURTENAY PLACE.

The Fire Brigade received a call at 4.44 a.m. yesterday to 73 Courteuay Place, a wooden building of two floors with an iron roof, containing three rooms aud a shop. The premises, which are occupied by Mrs. Evelyn Burnett, are owned by John Xfuller and Sons (N.Z.), Ltd. The storeroom aud contents on the first floor were damaged by fire and water, and two rooms and contents were slightly damaged by smoke. The shop and contents on the ground floor_ were slightly damaged by water. No insurances are available.
