PICTON EXCURSION

WAHINE’S TRIP ABANDONED. The southerly gale, together with the cold, wet weather prompted the Union Steam Ship Company to abandon the proposed daylight excurssion to Picton by the Wahine yesterday. Despite the inclemency of the weather, about fifty would-be excursionists went down to the ferry wharf before 8 a.m., but owing to reports of the condition of the Weather “outside” general approval Was expressed at the abandonment of the trip.
