UPPER HUTT CLUB The Upper Hutt Rifle Club fired the first match of the third series on Saturday, at 300 and 500 yards. The conditions were fair, a right wind requiring careful watching. " Some good individual scores were registered at both ranges. The best at uOO yards were malle by Rfini. B. Dunn (46), F. A. Whiteman (45), and S. Braid (44.) At COO yards the best were Rfltn. B. yards and COO yards. OLD NAVALS CLUB The Old Navals’ Rifle Club fired the fourth shoot for the championship anil second series at Trentham on Saturday afternoon, over 300 yards and 500 yards ranges. Conditions were ideal and some good scores were registered. At the 300 yards range U. Carter put on a good 45 and was closely followed by W. R. Kelly (44), R. Mottram (44), and Pres. W. McBain (43). Dep. Pres. P. Goldfinch was top scorer at the 500 yards range. Bo gave a flash of his former brilliance and registered a possible. I’res. W. Mcßain was next with 47, followed by P. W. Congreve (45) and R. Mottram (45). The best aggregate gun scores for the day were those of Dep. Pres. P. Goldfinch (02), Pres. W. Mcßain (90), E. Carter (89), and R. Mottram (89). Next Saturday the llnal shoot of the second series will be tired over 300 yards and 600 yards ranges. The positions with one shoot to go are as follow:—C. Hugo, 270; p. W. Congreve, 275; W. f'ettes, 273; J. Stevens, 273; E. Carter, 272.
