CONCESSION CLAIM EXPLANATION BY MR. AMERY (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, December 17. In the House of Commons, the Colonial Secretary, Mr. L. C. M. Amery, when asked about the nature of the ,-laiiu regarding Dead Sea concessions, •eplied that before the war the Turksh Government was alleged to have (ranted to certain subjects a conces;ion for the extraction of certain subtances from the waters of the Dead lea. From time to time the British Government had reqeuests to recognise his concession, the most recent being rom a French company, which was to mve acquired an interest at a eoni'aratively recent date. The British lovernment was advised that it was mder no legal obligation to grant the Turkish concession.
