CITY YEAR BOOK

INFORMATIVE VOLUME ISSUED. The year book just issued by the Wellington City Council is a valuable compilation of facts and figures concerning the administration of civic affairs in M’ellington. The frontispiece is a portrait of the Mayor, followed by a group of the councillors and anothei of the staff together with a panoramic view of the harbour. The foreword gives the history of the city and municipality, and its development and various activities, the ramifications of which, for a city of the size of Welington, are somewhat of a revelation. Few cities can show such a wide range of operations as come within the purview of the City Council, which controls the tramways, electric light, milk supply,"water supply, and highways, to say nothing of the city reserves, cemeteries, drainage, etc. The information the year book contains concerning these activities enables one to quickly obtain almost any data desired on any point relating to revenue or expenditure, their bearing on the rates, and the state of the loans and their number. The publication also includes a list of civic bodies such as educational authorities, hospital board, and numerous other organisations.

The volume is issued to the City Councillors and officials and others within a limited circle.
