ITALY’S VICTORY
OVER AUSTRIAN INVADERS GREAT ENTHUSIASM IN ROME SPEECH BY MUSSOLINI (United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian Press Assn.—United Service ) (Rec. November 5, 8.30 p.m.) Rome, November 4. Almost incredible scenes of delirious enthusiasm marked the conclusion of a speech by Signor Jlussolini winding up the celebration of the tenth anniversary of Italy’s decisive victory over the Austrian invaders. An immense crowd filled the Plaza Venezia, Rome, when Signor Jlussolini spoke briefly recounting Italy’s losses and the heroisms. He added: “I will ask you a question; but think well before you answer.” He pointed to Victor Emmanuel’s statue and proceeded : “Remember, he sees you. The Unknown Soldier is listening. Would you do the same to-morrow if necessary?” The crowd responded witli a great roar. Signor Jlussolini concluded: “Then carry the echo of your solemn oath to every corner of the country. Viva Italia.”
Seventy thousand ex-service men participated in a procession. The city was decked with flags. Te Deuius were sung and salutes fired.
