NEW RAILWAYS HEAD
QUESTION OF SALARY Information as to tiic salary of the General Alanager of Railways, together with all terms and conditions relating to his appointment, is sought iu a return) which Air. W. A. Veitch (Wanganui) wants laid before the House. Mr. Veitch asks also that the return show the annual superannuation allowance to be paid to each of the three members of the Government Railways Alanagenient Board who retired on superannuation on the abolition of that board, and the age and length of service of each on his retirement. The fifth petition of Frederick George Dalziell, barrister and solicitor, of Wellington, was submitted to Parliament yesterday bw Sir John Luke. The petitioner stated , that his main business in life was “to draw up and advise upon agreements for the combination of men and other things of nature, and for this purpose to endeavour to ascertain what the essentials of combination are. His conclusions were recited at length, and be asked tlie Government to make an investigation of the essentials of the industrial organisation.
