DUE TO SABOTAGE
SMASH ON EAST INDIAN RAILWAYS EIGHTEEN PEOPLE KILLED (United Service.) Calcutta, July 9. .The most serious accident in recent years on the East Indian Railways occurred last night, eight miles outside Howrah. Already thirteen arfe dead, and thirty-two are injured. The cause of the accident was the derailment of the engine near it culvert, resulting in the front brake van and two passenger carriages being telescoped. The ideality is within the strike area, and the theory that it was the work of strikers is being examined, Delhi, July 9. The train smash was due to sabotage, which was definitely proved, as 120 to 130 feet of rails had been removed.
