WELLINGTON’S NEW STATION

PLANS BEING PREPARED The Government has engaged Mr. W. G. Young, a local architect, to work in conjunction with the chief engineer of the Railway Department (Mr. F. O. Widdop), on the preparation of plans for the Igy-ont of the new Wellington rajlway station. The site is a wide flat open space, with tjiree large frontages, to’ Featherston and Bunny Streets and Waterloo Quav. In the preliminary plans, the Bunny Street frontage has been selected as the main entrance to the station. The building will not conform to the present alignment of Bunny Stre'et, as it is intended to widen this street considerably on the northern side, eliminating the present ancle of the intersection with Featherston Street, and substituting a riglitfifigle.
