Meteorological Office, Wellington. January 12, 4 p.m. An anti-cyclone is centred east of New Zealand, and a depression is advancing over the South ’ Fasman Sea. Moderate easterly to northerly winds, freshening southwards of New Plymouth and Castlepoint; later backing to southerly. Weather fair and warm at first, but clouding over and showers later south of New Plymouth and Napier, with cooler temperatures.
