BRITISH SAILORS’ SOCIETY

A very enjoyable concert was held on Thursday at the rooms of the British Sailors’ Society in Cuba Street. The party was aranged liv Mr. Turner and there was a very .large attendance of men from the various ships in poit. Lacn item was greeted with acclamation A heartv vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. Turner and party for the splendid programme. Items were contributed by Mesdames Larcher and Metcalf, Jackson, Quinlan, Hancock, Tinner, Smith, and Owen. Mrs. Metcalf and Mr. Larcher were the accompanists. At Hie conclusion of the concert a party was held to celebrate the coming of age ot one of tho voting lady, workers ot the society. A very nappy time was spent in -rallies, songs and instrumental items. A large number of men from tho henown were present and helped io make Hie evening a pleasant one. Supper was served, and the evening concluded with -Auld Lang Sync.”
