TRAM v. LORRY

■TWO CHRISTCHURCH COLLISIONS Dominion Special. Christchurch, December 6. A tram-car and a heavy motor lorry met in a head-on collision in Lichfield Street this afternoon. The mbtor lorry was considerably damaged, and was t&rown on its side. The driver of the lorry, aged about 18 or 19, was not injured, though he was severely shaken. A protective cab over the driver’s seat saved him. The driver of the tram-car rectived cuts from flying glass, but otherwise he was not hurt. The crash of the impact was heard several blocks away. Both front tires burst as the lorry fell over. A collision between a motor txuck and a tram-car at the intersection of Cashel and Tancred Streets reduced the motor truck to pieces. The tram-car was Slightly damaged, but no one was injured.
