MAVIS PYCROFT AWARDED TITLE

Dominion Special.

Christchurch, October 15.

The result of the Miss Canterbury competition was announced at the Theatre Royal last night, amid enthusiastic scenes. The winner is Miss Mavis Pycroft, who told a reporter that she would be 16 years of age on October 22. Second place was secured by Miss Phyllis Mann, whose age is 18. The entrance to the stage door was filled with an enthusiastic crowd, who cheered strenuously when the girls appeared.
