A CYCLIST’S DEATH
CAR DRIVER CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER Br Telegraph.—Press Association Invercargill, March 29. At the conclusion of the inquest on the death of Frederick Wijtty, who was killed on the North Road on March 8 the Coroner returned a verdict that deceased met his death through being run over bv a car, driven by John Guy Dennison. Dennison is the engineer engaged by the Southland County Council to supervise the work of bituminising the North Road. The evidence showed that deceased, who was riding a bicycle, had been struck from behind and thrown against the windscreen. Dennison has been arrested on a charge of manslaughter. He was admitted to bail on one surety of £2OO and remanded to appear on April 7.
