RUSSIAN BISHOPS ARRESTED
RENEWED PERSECUTION OP CHRISTIANS. (Rec. January 7, 7.25 p.m.) Berlin, January 6. Seventeen bishops have been arrested at Moscow, including the Metropolitan Peter, the highest dignitary in the Orthodox Church. The arrests are the outcome of the Soviet’s renewed persecution of Christians. The charge against the bishops is of refusing to recognise the living church, and while superficially Orthodox, actually teaching modernised heresy—Sidney “Sun" Cable.
