PAREMATA BOATING CLUB
SAILING AND MOTOR-BOAT RACES.
The Paremata Boating Club was again favoured with beautiful weather for the week-end races, a nice westerly P re 7 vailing. Eight boats started in the first class, Karehana (lOmin.), Boomorang (Bmin.), and Cooee (scr.). .The Boomerang was tire first home, with the Cooee a good second. The starters in the sec-ond-class race were: Bint (ISnnri.), Eclair (lOmiu.). Arahuri (Sniin.), Bora (scr.), and Tuahine (scr.). A good race saw the Arahuri first, with the Tuahine second. The motor-boat race was also a very successful event. Eight boats crossed the line. Molly (30min.), Robert E. Lee (I3min.), Buck (12min.), Mold (Bmin.), Betsy (7min.). Tue (sinin.). Taraahine (Yniin.), and Tataina (scr.). The interest In the race was keen, as the scratch boats were drawing close, but the Betsy maintained her lead and won easily, with the Robert E. Lee second, and the Tataina third. , , Next week-end the first-class boats will sait for Mr. Bolland’s trophy, as well as points for the Brady Shield. The second-class boats will compete for Mr. Quirk’s trophy, as well as for the MooreKouse Cup. The ■ motor-boats -will race for Mr. Jones’s trophy,‘ as well as points for the Brady Shield.
