A VERY LIGHT CALENDAR. By Telegraph.—Pbess Association. Christchurch, November 17. The shortest criminal session of the Supremo Court for many years in Christchurcji opened and concluded to- •» day. The proceedings occupied about two hours and forty-five minutes. _ Of the five persons charged, the grand jury f found no bill against one, one was acquitted, and three pleaded guilty. The prisoners who pleaded guilty will bo sentenced on Thursday morning. Blenheim, November 17. In the Supremo Court to-day Mr. Justice MacGregor congratulated the grand jury on the fact that there were no D criminal cases. It was a highly satisfactory state of affairs in such a wide district, and ho trusted that such * state would continue.
