WELLINGTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

The rose show of tho Wellington Horticultural Society will be held to-mor. row, in the Town Hall, when an excellent display is promised. It is anticipated that there will be keen, competition among the suburban societies for the “Evening Post” trophy, at present held by St. Thomas’s Society. For the R. M. Griffith’s -trophy for the best exhibit among the suburban rose growers, keen competition is anticipated. In the fancy classes for the 24 blooms, Stewart Dawson’s trophy is expected to attract a largo entry. There will also be trade exhibits, and a display from the city reserves and Zoo rosery. A first-class orchestra has been engaged for afternoon and evening, and dainty afternoon tea will be provided by the ladies of the society. The show will be opened by the Mayor (Mr. C. J. B. Norwood), at 3 p.m.
