EXHIBITION COMPETITIONS

Owing to advice having been received from Australia that correspondence in connection with the above competitions had been delayed owing to the shipping strike, and also owing to many intending competitors in New Zealand having overlooked the date of the dosing of entries owing to the elections, it has been decided to extend entries until December 1. A large entry has already been received, and December 1 will be the final date for receiving entries. Attractive prizes are being offered in all sections. For vocal solo, instrumental items, and elocution selections,. the prizes are £5 ss. first and £2 2s. second; quartets, first £lO, second £5; instrumental trios, first £lO 10s., second £8 Bs.; half-hour entertainment, first £l5, second £5; choir contest, first £lO, second £l5. Syllabus and entry forms can be obtained nt the leading music warehouses, or particulars can be obtained from Mr. E. S. Wilson, Box 92, Dunedin.
