LORRY OUT OF CONTROL
CRASHES INTO A HOUSE By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, December 20 Loaded with about live tons of metal, a three-ton motor-lorry belonging to the Motor Transport Company got out of control on Crafton Road, and ran down hill at a speed of 30 to 40 miles an hour. It broke through a fence and came to a standstill on a verandah with the radiator protruding through the wall of the front room and partly through the front door. The driver of the ’orry retained Ins seat for about 150 vard.4, but v.as unable to stop the vehicle, and jumped clear, escaping uninjured. The occupants of the house were fortunately at the back of the building. A piano standing against the wall near the front door was thrown into the middle of tlw room. The. lorry was badly damaged.
