ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Lyall Bay Surf and Life-Saving Club was held in the clubhouse yesterday afternoon. Air. P. N. Rundle (vice-president) occupied the chair. . The report congratulated the club on tho standard of efficiency attained during the past season, and. on the sustained interest of members. The election of officers resulted—Patron Mr. L. P. Blundell; president, Mr. lan Duncan; vice-presidents, Messrs. L. C. Blundell, Captain Curtis, D. Clariclge, W C. Reid, P. N. Rundle, W. G. Morpeth, Dr. Levy, 11. Murphy, C. h. Bridge, D. Tripe, J. M. Murrell, and Martin Duckie; club captain, Mr. 1. Coira; deputy-captain, Mr. E. S. Evans; junior deputy captain, Mr. N. Campbell; hon. instructor, Mr. E. S. G. Morpeth. The following committee was elected:— Messrs. Mollier, Beer, King, Williams, and Murrell. It was decided to hold the opening on October 27. The desirability of holding a combined opening with Maranui, in order to make a better display, was considered, on tho motion of Mr. E. S. Evans, but Mr. P. Coira thought the weather too unsettled for a public function so early in the season, and it was decided, as the Maranui opening was some time away, to combine with them then, if they wore agreeable, in a big display. Mr. P. Coira said that there had apparently been a good deal of slackness in the observance of certain of the club rilles last season, but this would not bo permitted to continue this year, and members infringing the rules in question would be expelled. On the motion of Mr. E. S. Evans, Mr. J. Williams was elected a life member of the club. The services of the ladies (who raised tho sum of £22 last year) were acknowledged by hearty acclamation on the vote of Mr. Beer. Alternative offers of the sale to the club of a whaleboat or its free use for the purposes of competitions were made by Mr. E. S. Evans, on behalf of tho owners, and it was decided to accept the latter offer, which was generally agreed to be generous.
