Play commenced on Monday night for the billiard championship of the Wellington Working Men’s Club, 200 up The contestants were J. Ford and T. Holt, and the players provided some pretty billiards, both scoring freely. Scores were fairly even for the first hundred, after which Ford gradually drew away and ran out with an unfinished break of 11, Holt’s score being 203. The breaks were:— Ford, 24, 17, 16, 14; Holt, 32, 27, 13. The next game in the tourney will be between J. Rait and L. Raines.
