GERMANY’S POLICY
TO BE REVIEWED BY STRESEMANN CABINET THE REPARATIONS PROBLEM CHANCELLOR TO MAKE OUTSPOKEN STATEMENT The German policy is to be completely reviewed at a series of Cabinet meetings, and the Chancellor in his next speech to the main committee of the Reichstag is expected to deal outspokenly with the reparations problem on the lines decided on.

The "Daily Chronicle’s” Berlin correspondent understands that a series of most important Cabinet meetings will be held during the week, at which President Ebert will preside, when the German policy will be completely reviewed. It is anticipated that Herr gtresemann's next speech to the main committee of the Reichstag, as soon as possible after the French reply, will deal outspokenly with the whole reparations problem on the lines determined by Cabinet. Herr Stresemann intends to tolerate no conversations between French and German industrials and others, but to retain full control himself.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ' POINCARE’S REPLY (Rec. August 21, 8.40 p.m.) Paris, August 20. M. Poincare’s reply to the British Note, will be handed to Lord Crewe
on Tuesday. The French Government will publish a Yellow Book on Wednesday, containing both Lord Curzon’s Note and M. Poincare’s reply. It is understood that Belgium approves of the substance and form of the reply.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. CONTRARY TO JUSTICE AND GOOD SENSE GERMAN CHANCELLOR ON FRENCH ACTIONS Berlin, August 20. Herr Stresemann (Chancellor) complains that actions such as the closing of the frontier have made it very difficult for the nation to follow the Government in a quietening policy. /He hoped that the Allies, especially France, would consider whether it was profitable again to act contrary to the laws of justice and good sense.—Aus.N.Z.
