The accidental upsetting of an oil lamp was tho cause of two summer cottages ami a motor-car bein': destroyed at Hakatcre, a holiday fishing settlement at tho mouth of tho Ashburton Biver, on Saturday night. The cottages belonged to Mr. J. M. Wilkie, who upset tho lamp, and Mr. I’. Cookson, both of Ashburton. The cottages and car were insured.
