A BATCH OF OFFENDERS. Persons were penalised for breaches of city by-laws by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, as follows: — Obstructing the footpath—Frank Martin, for leaving a packing case on Lambton Quay, ss. and costs. Traffic offences—Williim Arthur Henderson, motor-cycle without bell. Bs. _ and costs; exceeding the speed limit, Percival Fraser Hodgson, 10s. and costs; Lionel John Lovy,, £1 and costs; John Lichman Potlev, 10s. and costs; Beniamin Sutherland, 10s. and costs. Insufficiently lighted motor vehicles—Henry Otterholt, £1 and costs; William Stuart Park, 10s. and costs; Charles William Stewart, £1 and costs; Bert Taylor, 20s. and costs; Thomas Wrigley, 20s. and costs; leaving motor-car unattended, Charles William Stewart, 55.; no number in front of motor-car, Bert Taylor ordered to pay costs.
Failure to comply with closing orders, Emily Alice Shearman, 20s. and costs.
Wandering stock—Jarnos Feehy, 20s. and costs; James Lowndes, 40s. and costs; Lavington McWilliams, 10s. and costs; Georgs Selby, 10s. and costs. Obstructing a ranger—John Hill, £2 and costs.
